Privacy Policy

Snaptab ("the app", "we", "us") is a bill and receipt tracker published by Glitchfy. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: Snaptab is built to work fully offline, and by default your bills, receipts and spending data stay on your device.
1. Data stored on your device
Everything you capture and create in Snaptab is stored locally on your phone in a private database, including:
- Your bills and receipts — shop or place, amount, date, and category
- The receipt photos you take or import
- Location tags for where you spent, when you enable that feature
- App settings such as your default currency
This information lives in the app's private storage on your device. Unless you explicitly share a bill (see section 5), it is not transmitted to Glitchfy's servers, and we have no way to read it.
2. Camera, photos & location
Snaptab asks for permissions only to power specific features, and only when you use them:
- Camera — to photograph bills and receipts.
- Photo library — to let you pick an existing photo, or save receipt images.
- Location — to tag a bill with the shop or place where you spent. Reverse geocoding of that location happens on your device; it is optional and is never sent to us.
3. On-device text recognition (OCR)
When you snap a receipt, Snaptab reads the shop, amount, date and category using optical character recognition that runs entirely on your device. The image and the extracted text are processed locally and are not sent anywhere.
4. On-device intelligence (Insights)
Snaptab may offer AI-powered spending insights and advice. When available, this feature runs an AI model entirely on your device. The model may need to be downloaded once so it can run locally. After that, your questions, your spending data, and any receipt you ask it to analyse are processed on your device only and are not sent to Glitchfy or any third party.
5. Optional account & bill sharing
Snaptab also offers opt-in cloud features. You never need them to use the app:
- Optional account — you can create an account (email and password, via Firebase Authentication, a Google service) to unlock sharing. If you do, we store the email address you sign up with. Without an account, nothing changes: the app keeps working fully offline.
- Bill sharing — when you choose to share a bill as a link or QR code, the details of that bill only (such as shop, amount, currency, date, category, location tag and note) are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) so the person you share with can view it in a browser. Bills you do not share are never uploaded.
- Revoking a share — deleting a share in the app removes the shared copy from Firestore and the link stops working.
- Deleting account data — you can delete your shares and your account from within the app, or ask us at privacy@glitchfy.com and we'll remove them for you.
6. What we do not collect
- No name, email, or phone number is required to use the app. (If you create an optional account, we store only the email you sign up with.)
- No advertising identifiers, background location tracking, or behavioural analytics.
- No contact list, photos, or files are accessed unless you explicitly grant a permission for a specific feature.
- No bank, card, or account connections — you record spending yourself.
7. Deleting your data
Your data is yours, and you are always in control:
- Use Settings → Clear all data inside the app to erase your bills and receipts, or simply uninstall the app.
- If you shared bills or created an account, delete your shares and account from within the app, or email privacy@glitchfy.com and we'll remove the data stored in Firebase.
- For the full picture, see our Delete My Data page.
8. Children
Snaptab is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate, noted in the app.
